2018 Royal Copenhagen Christmas plate, designed by Allan Therkelsen, has the title Christmas tree market.
The plate depict a Christmas Tree market in the heart of Copenhagen at "Kongens Nytorv". Kongens Nytorv is surrounded by historic buildings and you really feel the presence of history for instance when you look at the old lamppost. To find the perfect Christmas tree can be a difficult decision to make, so it is good that the seller has brought a large selection, so you can walk around slowly to find the perfect tree. Kongens Nytorv do also frame a large Christmas market with a lot of booths from where you can get tastes of delicacies and hot drinks. From Kongens Nytorv you can see Hotel D´Angleterre, which has a tradition for an impressive decoration with thousands of lights every year at Christmas time. The white dove in the sky brings Christmas peace.
The Royal Copenhagen Christmas series includes the plate - of course - but also a Christmas bell, a Christmas drop and a Christmas cup. All of them has an extract of the motif from the Christmas plate.
